US Arrests More Than 3,100 Illegal Immigrants

U.S. immigration authorities have arrested roughly three-thousand-100 illegal immigrants in their largest sweep ever.

U.S. media report that the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement rounded up three-thousand-168 illegal immigrants nationwide who committed serious crimes or were deemed a threat to national security.

The agency's Director John Morton said one thousand of the arrested immigrants committed two or more crimes and many are murderers, arsonists, robbers, drug dealers and child molesters.

The arrested illegal immigrants were from 116 countries.
