The summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has opened in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

During the two-day gathering, leaders from ten ASEAN nations will discuss pending issues as part of preparations to create a single regional community by 2015.

The Asian leaders are also expected to discuss North Korea’s planned rocket launch and a territorial dispute in the South China Sea.

Philippine Foreign Secreatry Albert del Rosario said on Tuesday that foreign ministers of ASEAN nations are voicing opposition in unison to the North’s planned rocket launch.
