An Iranian newspaper reports that a U.S. attack on Iran would lead to retaliation from the Middle Eastern nation.

The newspaper quoted a high-level Iranian military official as saying that Iran will brutally retaliate against a U.S. attack and not only target countries in the Middle East.

The official warned that no place in the U.S. would be safe from the attack.

The official added that Iran will not launch a preemptive attack against any country.
