Foreign ministers from G8 economies will meet in Washington next week to address a range of country-specific, regional and transnational topics.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will sit down with her G8 counterparts at the meeting next Wednesday and Thursday. The situation in Syria and Iran’s alleged nuclear weapon development are expected to be high on the agenda.

Attention is being paid to whether the foreign ministers will discuss North Korea’s plan to launch the Kwangmyongsong-3 rocket within the next one to two weeks.

The meeting comes ahead of next month's G8 Summit in the U.S. at Camp David in Maryland.
