Ri Yong-ho’s Dismissal May Signal Policy Change in N. Korea

A Chinese newspaper says the dismissal of North Korea's army chief Ri Yong-ho from all his party posts on Sunday may signal a change to North Korea’s military-first policy.

China’s state-run Global Times explains that there might be hidden reasons behind Ri’s dismissal, which could be viewed as an indication that the North is changing into more of a predictable country.

Other Chinese news organizations, including Xinhua News Agency, reported on Ri’s ouster, showing the great interest that the reorganization of North Korea’s power structure draws.
