Market analysts say Samsung Electronics may have grown its lead in the global smartphone market over Apple since the release of the Galaxy S3 in May.

Analysts say the second quarter was big for Samsung, which believes it sold 50 million smartphones during that period compared to Apple's estimated 35 million.

It's also estimated that Samsung sold 15-point-seven million more mobile phones than Nokia in the second quarter.
