Fed Chairman Doesn't Expect Double-dip Recession for US

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke says he doesn’t believe the U.S. economy will slip into a double-dip recession.

Bernanke made the remark in a hearing held by the House Financial Services Committee on Wednesday, local time.

The Fed chairman said the U.S. is slowly but gradually growing and will unlikely experience a double-dip recession.

The Federal Reserve said in its latest Beige Book report on Wednesday that the U.S. economy showed modest improvement last month and early this month.
