Upbeat Expectations Grow for US Job Market

Expectations are rising in the U.S. for an improved job market as employers offer the most job opportunities in four years and reduce layoffs.

The U.S. Department of Labor said the number of employment notices jumped by 100-thousand month-on-month to three-point-eight million in June.

Meanwhile, layoffs fell from one-point-96 million in May to one-point-81 million in June.

However, labor experts say the job market will only be considered stable when at least five million job opportunities are offered each month, noting that 12-point-seven million people remain unemployed in the U.S.
