CNN to Take Reform Measures to Address Falling Viewer Ratings

U.S. cable news channel CNN will likely carry out heavy reforms shortly in the face of plunging viewer ratings.

Time Warner CEO Jeffrey Bewkes said CNN will maintain its objective bipartisan approach to delivering news reports, but it is seeking intensive measures to address falling viewer ratings. CNN, a subsidiary of Time Warner, is suffering from the lowest viewer ratings since its founding in 1980.

CNN President Jim Walton offered to resign last month, saying the company needs changes and a new leader who brings a different perspective, different experiences and a new plan.

Both Fox News and MSNBC have topped CNN in viewer ratings.
