Europe saw its biggest lotto winner yet as a ticket-holder in Britain won a record 190 million euros in the EuroMillions lottery.

According to lottery ticket seller the Francaise des Jeux, the winner, whose identity had not been disclosed, ended up taking away 266 billion won worth of prize money.

The EuroMillions lottery had built up suspense on who its next winner would be, as no lucky ticket holders had been found for 15 draws, pushing the lottery to a record high.

The EuroMillions lottery has been sold jointly in nine European countries since 2004. The last biggest lottery win was in July 2011 when a couple from Scotland won 185 million euros.
