The Japanese man who threw a brick through a window at the South Korean Consulate in Hiroshima appeared for questioning before police and claimed to be one of Japan’s right-wing activists.

According to Japanese media reports, Hiroshima police arrested a 44-year-old man identified as Y for property damage. Y had thrown a 20 centimeters long brick at the building, breaking a window in the process.

Police said Y had approached the consulate in Minami-ku on a small motorcycle around 2:50 a.m. on Saturday to throw the brick at the building’s front gate.

Y soon appeared before police in the afternoon to identify himself as a right-wing activist and that he had been angered by the South Korean president’s landing on “Takeshima,” Japan’s name for Dokdo.
