S.Korea Named 29th Healthiest Country

South Korea ranks 29th on Bloomberg's list of the world’s healthiest countries.

Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday that Singapore was named the world’s healthiest nation in its study based on a comparative study looking at a country’s average life expectancy, smoking rates and death rates.

Italy ranked second, followed by Australia, Switzerland and Japan. The United States came in 33rd, while China ranked 55th.

Bloomberg said that it used health scores and health-risk scores for countries with populations of at least one million to determine the country’s rank on the list. Data released by the UN, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Bank were used to calculate the health score factors and risk score factors.
