The European Union is revising plans to benchmark Australia’s anti-smoking policy and remove brand names from cigarette packs.

European Commission spokesman Antonio Gravili said the EU is discussing new regulations to ban the labeling of brand names on cigarette packs and increase the size of images warning about the dangers of smoking.

The European Commission says it will come up with more stringent regulations, including measures for electronic cigarettes, which will be implemented from December.
