US Court Denies Apple Motion to Throw Out Samsung Evidence

A U.S. court has denied Apple’s request to throw some evidence from Samsung Electronics related to the ongoing patent war between the two companies.

U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh said Samsung’s evidence could be presented in court in order to prove its argument that Apple products were built with pre-existing designs, rendering Apple’s patents useless.

The disputed piece of evidence from Samsung is a tablet computer developed in 1994, which has rounded corners and a rectangular shape.

Apple rebuked that the tablet computer and the iPad are very different from one another and that its design patents remain intact.
