A research team at Harvard University has developed technology that stores digital information in human DNA.

The journal “Science” reported in its latest issue that a Harvard research team succeeded in storing five-point-27 megabytes of data in human DNA.

The stored data include a 53-thousand-word-long e-book, eleven pictures and a computer program.

The research team said the DNA technology makes it possible to store all information found on the Internet in a thumb-sized storage device.
