US Fed Discussed Need for Additional Stimulus Measures

The U.S. Federal Reserve has intensively discussed the need to take additional economic stimulus measures.

The U.S. central bank released the minutes of its Federal Open Market Committee’s recent regular meeting held on July 31st and August first.

The minutes show that many committee members supported the introduction of greater monetary measures to buoy the economy, saying the U.S. economy could unlikely handle negative shocks if it continues to see sluggish growth.

Some members also proposed another injection of money into the market, explaining that the government can rekindle the trust of businesses and consumers in the market by buying back more state bonds.
