The Associated Press (AP) says the International Atomic Energy Agency is forming a special team to track Iran’s nuclear weapons technology and analyze related data.

AP quoted unnamed diplomats as saying on Thursday that the UN nuclear agency is apparently forming the special Iran team to “add muscle to a probe of suspicions that Tehran worked secretly on atomic arms.”

The report noted that “creating a unit focused on only one country is an unusual move for IAEA.”

Iran has dismissed the international community’s claims that it aims to possess nuclear weapons, stressing it has never developed anything of the sort.
