5 Killed in Small-town Shooting in Illinois

Police have identified the man suspected in the shooting deaths of five people in a small village in the U.S. state of Illinois.

Illinois media report that the suspected shooter, 43-year old Rick O'Dell, died several hours after the incident Wednesday morning following a shootout with police.

Police said five people were already dead at the apartment in the Village of Manchester and a sixth victim was seriously injured when they arrived at the scene.

The suspect was located by police later that morning and a high-speed chase ensued. He was captured and taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say they have yet to identify a motive.
