Owner of Deadly Factory Collapse in Bangladesh Arrested

The owner of the Bangladeshi factory complex that collapsed last week killing hundreds has been arrested near the Indian border.

Bangladeshi media report that police caught Mohammed Sohel Rana near the border with India on Sunday, local time, and transported him back to the capital Dhaka.

The factory complex in the capital housed five garment factories that crumbled last Wednesday. The death toll has climbed to more than 370 people.

Rana will soon stand trial on charges of violating building management rules and ignoring official warnings to evacuate people from the building after inspectors found cracks in it.

Local police took a total of six people into custody in connection with the building collapse.
