N. Korea Marks Armistice Anniversary with Military Parade

North Korea held a major military parade in Pyongyang on Saturday to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Korean War armistice.

The North’s state-run Korean Central Television broadcast the parade live from Kim Il-sung Square where thousands of goose-stepping soldiers led by military bands marched in procession.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao were shown walking on a red carpet to attend the event. Li visited North Korea to mark the anniversary of the cease-fire of the war in which Chinese forces fought alongside the North against South Korean and UN forces.
