Rare seabirds like fork-tailed petrels, shearwaters and black-tailed gulls nest in Dokdo, which is designated and protected as Natural Monument No. 336. Marine caves such as Hyeongjaegul located between Dongdo and Seodo, as well as Dongdo’s Cheonjanggul, abrasion platforms and sea cliffs display the mysteries of nature. The clean waters of the East Sea, the lone island and the seabirds create a beautiful scene, making Dokdo a highly valuable asset for tourism.
