According to an associate of Kim, the couple split up because the soccer player had not been supportive of Hong’s debut as a singer. The source explained that Kim had doubts about the relationship, wondering if Hong was using his status to promote her singing career. Kim reportedly quickly lost trust in the relationship and expressed his hurt in an interview shortly after Hong debuted as a singer.

Hong is currently a member of the girl group “Swan.”
