Local radio producers have chosen Lee Juk as the best singer, honoring him with the first “Radio’s Choice” Award. Lee has been critical and commercial success with his 3rd album “Namoo-ro Mandeun Norae/ Songs Made Out of Wood,” which was released in April.
Lee Juk won high points for his musicality and his radio appearances. The Radio’s Choice Award was created this year by the Korean Broadcast Producers’ Association and radio producers from the Radio Development Committee. The “Radio’s Choice” award is given to 1 musician in the first half of the year and 1 musician in the second half of the year. Lee Juk was selected as the recipient of the first award out of singers who have released an album or single after October 2006.
Producers from KBS, MBC, SBS and other local broadcasting companies voted for the winner of the award. Lee beat out 5 final nominees. The Radio’s Choice Awards will be held at the 63 Building in Yeouido, Seoul on the 31st, coinciding with the 20th Anniversary Ceremony of the Producers’ Association.
Lee Juk said, “More than the award itself, I’m so happy that I’ve received recognition from professionals in the music business…I want to thank the judges and my fans.”
