Singer Bada has been cast to play the female lead, the Gypsy Esmeralda, in the musical "Notre Dam de Paris."

Her management agency says that Bada passed the third round of auditions and the received the final nod from the original French production team.

After watching Nadia Bel perform as Esmeralda in the original production last year, Bada wanted to play the role as well.

Hearing the news of an audition for a Korean version of the French musical, she took the chance. She received a good review in the first resume audition, did well in the second examination by the Korean production agency and producer, and earned the final approval from the French staff.

Esmeralda is a 16 year old gypsy whose stunning beauty instigates a tragic romance between her and the character Phoebus.

The musical's original producer is in Seoul to coach the Korean actors on their characters.
