National team soccer player Kim Nam-il and KBS announcer Kim Bo-min announced at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul on Tuesday that they will be married.
Kim, dressed in a black suit without a tie, said he already feels responsible for being the man of the house and promised to do his best to lead a happy marriage. Kim admitted that he had not prepared a special marriage proposal for his girlfriend but added that he tried to express his wish to marry her as often as he could through special gifts.
Prior to his entry into the Dutch league, the soccer star met Kim through a blind date set up by one of his friends. A year after he returned from the Netherlands, the two officially began dating.
The popular announcer said the hardest part was to be disguised while dating in public. She said people eventually found out through the Internet. Her husband-to-be jokingly added that although he would like to have five children, he may have to reconsider as it would probably be too hard on his wife.
The two will wed on December 8 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. Lee Hoe-taek, vice president of the Korean Football Association, will officiate at the wedding ceremony.
