Modern rock band “Dorothy” is a group aimed at both Korean and Japanese pop music markets. It’s made up of 4 members – vocalist Dorothy, producer & guitarist Andy, guitarist Jonathan and drummer Isaac. Dorothy is also a multinational band, with Dorothy being Korean, Andy being American, Jonathan Australian and Isaac, Korean-Canadian. The emotions of the 4 members with different cultural backgrounds mix well together, creating a new type of music that everyone can relate to. The band’s most representative songs were written by Andy, who has lived in Korea for 12 years. “Picnic,” “Stranger ,” and “Sunday Morning” are some of Andy’s songs that express the originality of the musician. The lyrics, all written by Dorothy herself, are full of the everyday sentiments of a typical 20-year-old. The band will release a single in Japan in September. As the group was formed with the aim in mind of advancing into the Japanese pop market, their debut album includes both Korean and Japanese versions of the title song “Picnic”.
