In the second episode of Korea Panorama 70 years the establishment of the government of the Republic of Korea is explained in depth. The process involved ideological conflicts between the right-wing and left-wing factions and subsequent founding of two separate governments in South and North Korea. While Syngman Rhee was inaugurated as South Korea's first president, Kim Il-sung solidified his power base in the North to turn the country into a socialist state.
