Part 05. Building the Foundation for Economic Growth
After the armistice treaty was signed to halt the Korean War, the next big challenge for the Korean people was to escape from the crippling post-war poverty. So Korea started building railways and industrial infrastructure with the foreign aids pouring in from all over the globe as well as Korean people’s resilient spirit and strong work ethics and the government’s aggressive economic policies. As a result, manufacturing facilities sprouted up all over the nation and significant progress was made in all industrial sectors, including agriculture and export.
