Rainy Day Fashion Ideas
Summer is here and with it comes not only the heat and humidity but also loads of rain. To help you stay dry and stylish throughout the monsoon season, today I’m going to introduce easy to follow rainy day fashion tips.

Dressing for a rainy day can be a challenge, but with the right styling tips in mind, anyone can manage to stay dry and pull off a chic look without sacrificing style. First up, be cautious of the materials you wear on a rainy day. Among other materials, suede and leather are a definite no-go. When it’s raining out, it’s always a good idea to leave your favorite suede or leather items at home—as getting water on them might ruin your day. Say no to those stylish suede loafers and leather bags and instead opt for items made with monsoon-friendly materials like cotton, lycra, polyester, and more.

Next, add bright colors. Don’t be afraid to mix and match super bold colors like bright neons. Bad weather is already depressing so why not wear something non-depressing and vibrant? For instance, opt for statement pieces like a bright red PVC raincoat and instantly lift your mood. Made from polyvinyl chloride, PVC raincoats are non-permeable to water, making them a fashion staple on a rainy day. You can also play with a variety of rainy day staples like trench coats, flip flops, rain boots, umbrellas, and more in bright hues like hot pink, neon yellow, aqua blue, zesty orange, and so much more. When styling vivid colors, do remember to focus on one or two statement pieces at a time. For instance, a pair of hot pink polka dot rain boots will look best when teamed up with a neutral colored outfit—something as simple as a white tee and grey skinny jeans combo. When it comes to rain boots, there are so many designs out there to fit any fashion taste—so find a pair your love this summer and have fun styling!

In addition, scarves can be a great way to add a layer when you need a cover up on those chilly rainy days. Ditch your favorite black scarf and instead opt for colorful designs and instantly spice up your look. A bright turquoise tie-dye scarf paired with a simple tee and denim shorts combo adds the perfect amount of style to your rainy day outfit. Complete the look by matching a pair of shiny black rain boots and a cute polka dot umbrella and flaunt your fashion sense!

Play with these easy tips and stay stylish throughout the monsoon season!
