Makeup Tips for a Glowing Complexion
It’s summertime and that means new makeup trends for a new season. Among other trends making waves in the makeup world at the moment, the dewy look is super hot and today I’m going to introduce tips for achieving a glowing complexion.

This season’s makeup trends are all about being fresh-faced and naturally glowing—and nothing screams summer makeup more than getting that beautiful, sun-kissed glow. But there is a fine line between glowy and greasy face makeup—so it’s important to stick to the right makeup routine so you can pull off a dewy and moist look while keeping your oil under control. First up, any glowing complexion probably comes down to excellent skincare. In the summertime, it’s best to minimize your skincare routine by focusing on proper moisturizing and exfoliation. Switch out your thick, creamy lotions for lightweight, water-based moisturizers and give your skin the proper hydration it needs. Using a mild scrub, don’t forget to exfoliate the skin at least once or twice a week to rid the dead skin cells and let your skin breathe. It’s also a good idea to use the scrub in the morning to gently buff off the dry skin before your put on makeup.

Next, always use a primer and get your skin ready for foundation or tinted moisturizer. Vitamin-rich makeup primers help plump up the skin and minimize the appearance of lines and pores, creating a canvas for flawless makeup application. You can ditch the sunscreen and opt for a primer with an SPF factor in it and skip a step in your makeup routine.

For more coverage, apply a lightweight foundation or tinted moisturizer. This season’s makeup is all about achieving a natural, barely-there look—so the trick is to apply as little foundation as possible. If you want something very simple and light, you can also go for BB (blemish balm) creams or CC (color correction) creams which are still very popular this season. BB creams and CC creams are ideal for the summer months as they can be used alone for a very natural look while still giving you some coverage.

To create a flawless finish, apply a hint of powder and help set your foundation, tinted moisturizer, or BB/CC cream. For a lovely, sun-kissed glow, don’t forget to finish off with a powder bronzer that gives the look of a summer tan with a light velvety finish. Apply to the high points of your face—middle of the forehead, cheeks, bridge of the nose, and chin as the last step of your face makeup.

Fill in your eyebrows using an eyebrow pencil, skip the eyeliner, and swipe on a fruity, pink or orange lipstick and you are good to go!

Play with these tips and get the perfect dewy summer look!
