Holiday Styling Tips Part I

The holidays are upon us and that means holiday parties! Today I’m going to introduce the top five style ideas that will make you stand out at any
holiday occasion.

*Styling Tip #1: Sequin
It’s time to get sparkly! If you don’t already own a sequined piece, it’s time to get shopping! Play with a wide array of sequined items—everything from dresses, pencil skirts to tops and blazers. In particular, a sequined dress will be a safe bet. Slip on a cute dress embroidered with sequins, beads, and pearls and instantly dress up your look. Be sure not to over-accessorize—and let the dress be the center of attention. If you are interested in trying something a little different, skip the full-on sequined dress and mix and match one statement sequin piece—such as a flowy pair of sequin trousers, a sequin cardigan or a sequin max skirt. Team up with simple staples such as a black blazer or a plain white tee—and you’ll still be able to work the
festive beads into your look!

*Styling Tip #2: Velvet Suits
This season the rage is all velvet—and there’s no other trend that screams holiday cheers like the velvet. For your next holiday party, trade in your everyday wool blazer for a suit done in all velvet. To bring a bit of festive cheer into your look, you can opt for a deep crimson or rich green color or keep the look sexy and sleek in an all-black velvet suit. Top off the look with a bold statement necklace and pair of super high heels.

*Styling Tip #3: Play with seasonal colors
Keep the look vibrant and bold with the seasonal colors we love. A deep red silk dress is equally sexy and festive—making it the perfect go-to dress for any holiday party. In addition, green is actually one of the hottest colors of the season. Opt for a silky green wrap dress, throw on a faux fur coat and instantly take your style to the next level. Complete the outfit with a pair of ankle-strap pumps for a classy look.

*Styling Tip #4: Layered Accessories
Accessories have the power to elevate a look and are a must when it comes to holiday fashion. Remember, there’s nothing more fun and festive than a bit of sparkle. Go for styles that you normally shy away from—and embrace extra bold statement necklaces, earrings, and rings. In particular, oversized chandelier earrings decorated with pearls, studs, and gemstones are
extremely popular this season. Mix and match with monochromatic outfits and instantly take your look from drab to fab!

*Styling Tip #5: Play with Makeup & Hairstyles
As for the makeup, experiment with new colors that you normally wouldn’t consider—for instance, a super bright red lip or glittery eyeshadow which can instantly brighten up your face and transform your look. As for the hair, beautiful curls will always work. Simple updos —either an elegant bun or a sleek ponytail—will look great with any pants/blazer ensemble.

Play with these tips and look your best this holiday season!
