KBS 2 TV’s weekend drama “My Father is Strange” is the talk of the town at the moment. Today I’m going to introduce actress Lee Yoori’s makeup look from the popular drama.

“My Father is Strange” is about the Byun family that lives on the outskirts of Seoul. Husband-and-wife Byun Han-soo and Na Young-sil have three daughters and one son—Hye-young, Mi-young, Ra-young, and Joon-young. The story unfolds when Ahn Joong-hee, an actor who used to be a member of an idol group, shows up one day to declare that he is the son of the family—and begins to live with them.

In the drama, actress Lee Yoori plays the role of Byun Hye-young, the eldest daughter of the Byun family and a lawyer by profession, who is dating a TV producer Cha Jung-hwan, played by actor Ryu Soo-young. Playing the role of a successful career woman, Lee Yoori’s makeup is impeccable and her medium-length wavy bob hairstyle is always on point.

* Face
To get the Byun Hae-young makeup look, start by creating a radiant, flawless complexion. Opt for a moisturizing foundation that helps give skin a youthful luster. Apply the foundation on the center of the face and blend it outwards using a foundation sponge. To cancel out the redness and cover up blemishes, opt for a creamy foundation with yellow undertones. Dab a cream concealer on the cheeks, chin, middle of the forehead, and on the bridge of the nose and instantly brighten up your face. Achieve a thinner-looking face by shading the outer areas of your face—near the ears, jaw line, and around the hairline by using a stick type, darker color foundation stick. To get that perfect porcelain-like effect, finish off with weightless powder with a luminous finish and dab on a cream blush in soft pinks and give your face an extra glow.

* Lips
The key to getting the Byun Hae-young make up look lies in the lip makeup. In the drama, Lee Yoori rocks bold lips which makes her makeup look chic and pulled together. Some of her favorite colors include super pigmented reds, flashy pinks, and neon oranges. To copy the look, go for a “full lip” look and apply a cherry colored hot pink lipstick with a bit of a matte finish.

* Eyes
To balance out the bold lip, Lee Yoori keeps her eye makeup fairly subdued and simple with soft orange and pink based eyeshadows and long eyelashes. To get the Byun Hye-young look, simply fill in the eyebrows using a dark brown eyeshadow and create rounded arch brows. As for the eyeshadow, instead of mixing multiple eyeshadow colors, stick to one shade. Apply an orange eyeshadow all over the lid and the plump area underneath the eyes. For a softer look, opt for a brown pencil liner and draw the liner as close to the lashes as possible. Using an eyelash curler, curl the eyelashes starting from the roots. For a maximum effect, glue fake lashes along the mucous line and go “full-on” with the mascara—applying to both top and bottom lashes.
