The creative director, visual artist and photographer, Vincent Sung was born in the southern port city of Busan and adopted at age three by a Belgian family. He studied visual communications before apprenticing with renowned fashion photographers in Brussels and modeling assignments in Paris.
In 1996 Vincent Sung decided to move back to Korea. He has since worked for the Korean editions of prominent international fashion and luxury magazines, such as ELLE, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and Marie Claire. He frequently travels on assignments that take him elsewhere in Asia, Europe and beyond. At present, he divides his time between Seoul and Bangkok, Thailand, with frequent visits to Bali, Indonesia, and Hanoi, Vietnam.
During our interview, we discuss his first solo fine art photography exhibition in eight years, the controversial work of French poet Charles Baudelaire, and the “misery of boredom."
