A Japanese think tank says Korea ranked 18th last year in terms of potential competitiveness.

The Japan Economic Research Institute made the announcement after analyzing the growth potential of 50 nations’ per-capita Gross Domestic Product for the next ten years, raising Korea’s ranking two spots from the previous year.

Hong Kong came in first place, followed by Singapore and the U.S., while Japan ranked twelfth.
