7th Shipment of US Food Aid Arrives in NK

A seventh batch of food aid from the U.S. has arrived at the North Korean port of Nampo.

Voice of America said that the near five-thousand tons of food was scheduled to reach the North before January 19th, but the arrival was delayed due to bad weather. The ship had been docked in the Chinese city of Dalian, several hundred kilometers from North Korea, waiting for conditions to improve.

Five U.S.-based NGOs --- including Mercy Corps, World Vision and Samaritan’s Purse --- will take part in distributing the U.S. aid to the North.
