NK, British Officials Meet in Pyongyang

Parliamentary officials of North Korea and Britain reportedly held discussions in Pyongyang on Wednesday to discuss bilateral cooperation.

According to North Korea’s state-run Korean Central News Agency, Ri Jong-hyuk, who chairs the parliamentary committee responsible for promoting North Korean-British ties, and his counterpart David Alton were among those present at Wednesday’s meeting. Britain’s ambassador to Pyongyang, Peter Hughes, was also in attendance.

The news agency said the two sides focused discussions on ways to further develop friendly relations between their parliaments, also sharing views on other issues of mutual concern.

The British delegation entered North Korea on Tuesday.
