China has confirmed reports that it struck a deal with North Korea last month to provide aid to the impoverished country.

China’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said during a press briefing on Thursday that the Chinese government has continuously provided aid to the North for years to help the nation overcome its economic difficulties.

However, the spokeswoman didn’t elaborate on the specifics of the aid package, including its contents, size or shipment schedule.
