US, Japan Seek Cargo Inspection for NK

The United States and Japan are seeking to enhance inspection of cargo going in or out of North Korea. The measure could be included in a proposed U.N. Security Council resolution for North Korea's rocket launch on Sunday.

Japan’s Yomiuri Shimbun reported Tuesday that the proposed resolution also requires the council to designate ten North Korean organizations whose overseas assets will be frozen.

The United States and Japan explained the content of the proposed resolution to U.N. ambassadors from Britain, France, China and Russia during their meeting on Sunday.
