The United States says it has no information on reports that North Korea is planning to expel International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors from Pyongyang.

When asked about the report, State Department deputy spokesman Robert Wood said that it’s the first time he’s heard such claims.

On the North’s rocket launch, Wood reaffirmed that the U.S. is working toward a strong and effective response from the U.N. Security Council.

However, he added that the council’s response is not something that can be drawn up immediately, stressing that the process is going to take time.
