Koreans Mark Anniversary of Gov't-in-Exile in Shanghai

Various events are being held in Shanghai to mark the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Korean government-in-exile during Japanese colonial rule.

The South Korean consulate in Shanghai on Monday will hold a ceremony and reception to mark the anniversary.

A two-day seminar on Korea’s independence movement in China will be held at Fudan University in Shanghai on Friday and Saturday.

The Korean Culture Center in the Chinese city is holding an exhibition of illustrated poems in memory of prominent independence activist Kim Koo, who headed the provisional government from 1940 until Korea's liberation at the end of World War Two.

Various events and photo exhibitions will be held around April 13th, the day the Korean government-in-exile was founded in 1919.
