U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is commending the U.N. Security Council for adopting a presidential statement condemning North Korea’s rocket launch.

In a statement Tuesday, Ban said he hopes the council's unified response will pave the way for renewed efforts toward the peaceful resolution of all outstanding issues in the region, including the early resumption of the six-party talks and inter-Korean dialogue.
