Former U.S. President Bill Clinton will brief President Barack Obama soon about his visit to North Korea.

The ex-U.S. president visited the North on Tuesday on a mission to facilitate the release of two American journalists, Laura Ling and Euna Lee, who had been detained by the North since March for entering the nation illegally.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-il pardoned the two American women following a meeting with Clinton.

Clinton arrived in Los Angeles Wednesday, taking the two reporters of former Vice President Al Gore’s Current TV media outlet back to the U.S. with him.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Clinton had been briefed about his mission before leaving for Pyongyang.

Gibbs added that the former president will meet with Obama to discuss his North Korea visit sometime soon.
