PTI: N.Korean Crew Handed Over to Local Police

The Indian Coast Guard has reportedly handed over the crew of a North Korean vessel under investigation to local police authorities.

The Press Trust of India (PTI) reported the authorities have not had clear answers why the North Korean ship anchored illegally.

Last Wednesday, MV Musan was detained by the coastguard after a six-hour chase. The ship anchored without authorization in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a territory of India in the Bay of Bengal, Wednesday.

The report said the Indian police and intelligence agency will investigate further into the ship and crew, adding that authorities will continue inspecting the ship for any traces of nuclear material.
