An exhibition on the Dokdo islets has opened in Koreatown in Los Angeles.

Several Korean-American organizations hosted the event as part of celebrations to mark the 64th anniversary of Korea’s liberation from Japanese colonial rule.

The exhibition also aims to promote international recognition of Korea’s sovereignty over the territory.

A giant photo of Dokdo and paintings of the rocky islets are on display at the exhibition.
