The European Union Navy says a North Korean cargo ship has been hijacked by Somali pirates.

The EU Naval Force said Thursday that the 48-hundred-ton “MV Rim” was hijacked in the Gulf of Aden while heading for the Somali coast on Wednesday.

Officials from the Navy said they have yet to confirm what the ship was carrying but did confirm that the cargo belonged to a shipping company in Libya.

The officials added that they have been unable to confirm the number or nationalities of the people on the cargo ship.
