'G20 Will Replace G7'

A leading Brazilian newspaper says the G20 will replace the G7 as the main international economic cooperative body.

Folha de São Paulo Thursday quoted President Lee Myung-bak as saying at the World Economic Forum last month that the G20 summit in Seoul will be a test case for establishing a new international cooperative framework.

The paper said that although some countries, including Japan and Canada, are holding fast to the G7 status, the group of advanced nations will be unable to block the rise of the G20.
