Korea's Defense Ministry spokesman said Korea is currently not in discussions with the U.S. regarding the Missile Defense (MD) program.

The spokesman stated Friday in a briefing that the comment by a high-ranking U.S. official that Korea and the U.S. are talking about the scope and extent of Korea’s participation in the MD program is not true. He added that Korea’s position on missile defense remains the same.

Beforehand, Peppino De Biaso, head of MD policy in the U.S. Defense Department, had said the two nations were steadily having dialogue on opportunities for a collaboration in missile defense plans, the nature of the joint threat, and bilateral cooperation methods.
