China: NK Nuke Tensions Easing

China is urging for the swift resumption of the six-way nuclear talks, saying that tensions surrounding North Korea’s nuclear standoff are easing.

China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu told reporters Tuesday that tensions surrounding the North’s situation are easing and that now is a good opportunity to actively seek the reopening of the six-nation talks and the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

Ma stressed that all concerned parties share the view that Pyongyang’s nuclear standoff must be resolved peacefully through dialogue and negotiation.
