President Lee Myung-bak has met with visiting Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas at Cheong Wa Dae.

The president said he wanted to make efforts towards supporting the stable development of Palestine.

Abbas responded that he hoped to learn from Korea’s experience in economic development.

Lee heard from Abbas about Israel-Palestine relations and said he hoped peace talks would resume in the near future.

This is the first visit to Korea by a Palestinian leader.
