The Korean embassy in Australia delivered its concerns to the Australian government on the Pacific nation’s decision to tighten immigration rules.

The Korean embassy said to the Australian Immigration Department that this change could have a negative impact on Koreans looking to immigrate to Australia. They include Koreans who were planning to get green cards following previous rules, and Korean students who are studying at local vocational schools.

The embassy added that it would continue to monitor trends on the replacement of the current GSM visa review system and to deliver the interest and concerns of Koreans hoping to immigrate to Australia.
